Aria2 Explorer v2.2.x ~ v2.3.x has introduced several valuable updates that might require an introduction.
Export all links from the page
It now supports exporting URLs of webpage Image·Audio·Video resources with HTTP/HTTPS protocol, Magnet URI, and all links to a downloadable file from the context menu (Only images with dimensions larger than 400×300 pixels will be exported). You can also set a file extension list in the options page to determine the types of files you want or don’t want to export.
Improved AriaNG user experience
1. New tasks filter
You can now filter tasks according to the file type when pasting or exporting multiple URLs from a webpage.
2. Improved multi-tasks selecting experience
Now supports selecting multi-tasks with the Ctrl key and successive tasks with the Shift key. The default task selecting mode is controlled by the shortcut option setting in the general settings page. If the shortcut is switched on, the default task selecting mode is single selecting. If off, the default task selecting mode is multiple selecting.
3. All-tasks list page
An all-tasks list page has been added that displays all tasks ordered by status (Active -> Pause -> Waiting -> Error -> Complete -> Removed). You can disable it in the general settings page by setting Default Tasks Page to Downloading.
4. AriaNG PWA support
A manifest file has been added to AriaNG, allowing it to work like an application and be launched from the desktop or homepage. Method: Chrome Menu -> Save and Share -> Create Shortcut, Edge Menu -> Apps -> Install this site as an app. Android/iOS Browser menu -> Add shortcut to home screen.
We also provide an online version of AriaNG: https://ui.aria2e.com for NAS users to manage their Aria2 server remotely.

Looking ahead to the next year, we have outlined a new development plan.
Roadmap for next year
This year, our focus has been on enhancing the experience of Aria2-Explorer and AriaNG embedded in the extension. Currently, these improvements are nearing completion. We have received much appreciation and valuable feedback from our users. Thank you all together here. However, we’ve identified some issues that could not be solved on the Aria2-Explorer side. Therefore, we’ve decided to shift our focus to enhancing the Aria2 utility.
Aria2-Manager Microsoft Store version
Enhancing the Aria2 utility involves a lot of work for us. Hence, we decided to make Aria2-Manager a chargeable version. The enhanced Aria2 binary will only be delivered with Aria2-Manager in the future. The planned improvements include:
- Aria2 bug fixes
- Improved RPC responsiveness
- Refined task management experience
- Ability to delete files after deleting download task
- uPnP for intranet port mapping
- Other feedback from our users
We have already launched Aria2-Manager on the Microsoft Store. Currently, Aria2-Manager is still v1.1 and there is an ongoing sale activity for a 50% discount until 2024-3-31.
If you’re not interested in the enhanced Aria2, you can continue to use the free version released earlier.
The Advantages of our download solution
Compared to other download applications based on Aria2, we maintain native code programming to deliver a slim and responsive download solution to our users, with a total storage requirement of less than 10MB. Additionally, we’ve kept task downloading and management functions separate, which is friendly for NAS users. Moving forward, Aria2-Explorer will remain free for everyone.
About open source
As Aria2 is an open-source project, we will comply with the GPL by releasing the source code every 15 months following the Aria2 release cycle.
